I had no idea they were making a movie about Ian Curtis. It's kinda scary... but at the same time, it'd be interesting to see.

The movie is currently in planning stages, and many of the key decisions concerning the film have already been made. The film is scheduled to enter pre-production May 15, 2006 and actual filming is scheduled for seven weeks, beginning July 3, 2006.

The film may be shot in "black and white" to "reflect the atmosphere of Joy Division and the mood of the era,

New Order, the post-Curtis incarnation of Joy Division, will produce much of the music. They will be recording new songs and re-recording several old Joy Division songs under their old name [3]. Bands that have been approached to record music for the soundtrack CD (which will be titled "Out of Control") are: U2, Marilyn Manson, and Doves. Other bands that have been rumoured include The Cure, Bauhaus, The Creatures and Depeche Mode.

Please no U2!!!

This is very old hat but never the less, it should be good as long as it follows the book it is based on. Ian comes across as a right cunt. It is awesome and sad at the same time. The atmosphere of Joy Division was not dark or gloomy, that is a misconception, they were actually jokers. They were happy but Ians underlying sadness, epilepsy and his complex dreams of an early death were what ultimatly give this modern idea of darkness. They should use the 24 hour party people ian rather than the one they are using. A reformed Joy Division with Moby on the mike is rumoured but Bernard Sumner is great already, they should keep it as it is for now.

Because Control is based on the book Touching From a Distance by Ians wife Deborah Curtis. It is about the band and Ians life. You can hardly say 24HPP was about Joy Division. It was about Factory and Madchester. It was about Tony Wilson, not Joy Division. This movie will be incredible, especially with Deborah on the set.
