Here is the main things that I've identified as crucial in analysing each of the texts in a Crime Fiction Essay:
Conventions of the particular subgenre included/subverted
Techniques used to present these conventions
Values/ideas the use of these conventions conveys
Context and its influence on values/ideas conveyed
If I have notes on these points for all of my texts, and an understanding of genre theory, do you think I would have enough material for a good response, being able to shape the response to the question?
Also if you can add anything to this list, please reply.
