I'm due to write an in-class essay on King Lear very soon about whether

"Moral choices expose the darker side of human nature",

using context and values

I was wondering if i should use themes, characters or scenes as my line of argument , any thoughts ??

i recently completed an essay and got the highest mark. you can use characters or scenes, but i personally like using themes.

remember its philososphy/(your) idea > supported and explained by evidence/techniques

so it should be:

what you think of king lear > how...technique

then technique becomes: macro technique > micro technique

eg, theme>metaphor
characterisation>tone of language

wateva

and these themes relate to your thesis

hope that helps... :>
