First of all is it Korol Lir (1969) or Karol Lir (1971) or are these two versions the same?

Secondly why does the fool reappear in the last scene?

its because i love you!

with the fool thing, i was thinking, its probably got to do something with the socialist view of the play. its a 'tragedy among people' and "'the centre of attention was to be focused on people and on the philosophy of the tragedy" according to kozinstev.
by having the fool sitting there at the end (i think this is the right reading) in the rubble of the community shows his feelings for both the loss of his master who he loved so much (there was talk that the fool+lear were having more of a relationship than shown) and his heartbreak for the deterioration of the community.
but i think if youre going to talk about the end in detail, make sure you focus on how the society was rebuilding itself --> BIG SOCIALIST THEME!!!

btw, youre stupid cake mixture thing is making me really hungry...:(
