Yes, none of your year 11 assessment tasks and exams will count towards your HSC results or your ATAR. Year 11 is simply an opportunity for you to thoroughly experience all of your subjects, which then allows you to contemplate the best subject combination to have as you approach the start of year 12, as well as revamp or refine your study strategy. This will become increasingly important in ensuring favourable performance across your subjects throughout year 12.

While your Preliminary exams will not count towards your HSC results or your ATAR, your performance in them can be useful as an indication going forward. For example, if you perform well in your exams, this could indicate that your study strategy has been effective, and that you should probably maintain it throughout year 12. On the other hand, if your performance in your exams ends up being unfavourable, this could indicate that your study strategy has been ineffective (thus requiring changes to enhance it) and/or that you may be experiencing difficulties with the content. In such a case, it would be a good idea to work on addressing areas of improvement and seek relevant advice/clarification to help you better understand content. This becomes especially important in year 12.

I hope this helps! 😄
