whilst i was at school, whoever wanted to do it nominated, and then they gave speeches to the teachers, and then to yr 11 and 10. yr 10s vote was worth 1 point, yr 11 worth 2, and teachers worth 3 (to make each group roughly equal)
however this was redone, and they had to submit a 'cv' of activities they had been involved in, and undergo selection from a panel and stuff.

wow.
pretty intensive.
the one flaw with our system is that if u don't want to be elected u might still become a prefect...although this rarely happens.

We used to have "first past the post" and the top 4 where elected from the student body and teachers.
Now-
The students and teachers vote for 12 prefects-6 girls and 6 guys.
Then that top six go in front of a panel and they choose who is captain and vice-captain. The rest are prefects.

Year 7-8 vote are worth 1
Year 9-10 votes are worth 3
Year 11-12 and staff votes are worth 5

I'm going for it, my slogan is:
Scott Thorncraft-The Big Man With The Big Plan.

What do you think???

Don't forget to run around during the speech saying "I'm huge, I'm huge!"

Yeah Fiona, like snake whacking day on the Simpsons! I think public executions are a good idea. Are you going tot his tug-of-war thing at our school? Its Friday week.

I reckon its a great idea to use my size, all the other guys goin for it are like 5 foot or under. You gotta find your strengths, and "hugeness" is one of my strengths!!!

pcx_demolition017:What do you think it would be? World domination of course!!!

Our school doesnt have to do speeches when you go for captain or anything . . . its all a damn popularity contest anyway!

lol, true. However, my philosophy is-the smaller they are the faster they fall.

Thats pretty democratic **cough**. Fair though. At least the hardest workers have a chance and its not a popularity contest.

Dictatorships are the way to go! If I get Captain, I'm going to use the school as a base for my plans of world domination ;-)
