Learning 3U by myself (1 Viewer)

Just finished the 2022 Math 2U advanced HSC, honestly starting to regret that I did not choose Extension 1 maths in yr 10, since I was in 5.2 at the time, but honestly my 2U internal results werent that bad. Especially after realising that my course in University would have 3U as assumed knowldge (bachelor of engineering)

Now im asking what are the main things that i would need to learn, and what are the prelim content that would be required for yr 12 level?

Hopefully, a more knowledgeable person can confirm or add to this:

Even though the prereq is MX1, it would be more favourable to learn parts of MX2 too. As Trebla previously said somewhere on BoS, "MX2 is preschool compared to uni maths" (paraphrased), and so if you are learning MX1, looking into MX2 yourself should be beneficial too (when you do your bridging course).

JUST SOMETHING TO NOTE

mx1 and mx2 train problem-solving ability which takes time and still can be obtained during 1st yr uni if you're diligent enough. It's not so much the content that is the problem. 3u and 4u content are covered at the same speed as other content in maths courses. U can be more lazy during 1st term if u've learnt 3u and 4u and not put effort into where those topics are covered.

as for what to do, maybe take a bridging course or get ur hands on a term 1 uni book. or read and attempt problems in mx1 and mx2 cambridge

I don’t think you’ll be in that bad of a position. As others said uni will go through it all plus advanced already has calculus in it (but more advanced calculus like integration by parts and the use of partial fractions is probably useful to learn). Maybe familiarise yourself with vectors in a maths sense - obviously you’ve used them a bit in engineering studies but things like column notation, vector projections and solving projectile motion questions with vectors. Actually looking at projectile motion (and other mechanics questions) might be useful - maybe even some out of physics (which have non-calculus mechanics) and then look at the calculus mechanics of mx2.
