not for single songs
Not necessarily. With modern BT clients like bitcomet you can choose to download individual files from a torrent, for example you can download a single song from an album torrent.

I wonder where file sharing would be today without the Napster dude. I think Napster had a much bigger effect than people think. Would broadband take up be so fast if file sharing didn't exist? Would so many mp3 players be sold if file sharing didn't exist? Would someone have even come up with the idea of file sharing yet?

limewire is ok, except i have a problem where when i run it, it slows down my computer DRAMATICALLY. i.e. cpu usage hits 100%, it slows down to a crawl.

happened on numerous formats/reinstalls. cant figure out what it is =/

Have you got the latest Java JRE installed? You'll probabley want the first one "Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language".

WINmx is gayest program ever and so is ares and kazaa.

Limewire is fast and quick and you can find anything on it and it has the best user interface. It easy to understand unlike Ares and the clattered Winmx.

i cbf making a topic or anything, but i use limewire 'cause i'm too computer illiterate to figure out torrents or mirc or anything, and i figure you guys might know the answer to this.

say i want to download a movie and like fifty million results come up, is there any way of knowing which one/s actually contain the movie? like obviously if it's a two hour movie and it's like 7mb it's not going to be it. save for downloading the whole thing only to find out it's not what i want, is there any way? like a site which lists them or something?
