I have this research assignment and need to do a bibliography. I want to do it properly this time, since they fussy on the matter. So what the proper way? I have mainly websites and text books.

Ok for internet sites just post the URL, for books set it up as following:

Author Name/s. (Year), Title of Book, Location, Publisher.

Eg.

Copeland, Paul L. (2000) Engineering Studies-The definitive guide , Sydney, Anno Domini 2000.

Basically, theyre in text references. you put a number in superscript form next to a statement and at the bottom of the page, it has the number with the reference.

its like in your paragraph you use info direct from a text/source. this is how it is basically set out:

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Rahul is a genious1. blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

You don't have to do a bib in the exam you fool! :p
If you want to acknowledge something, simply put it in quotation marks :)
When doing that the teacher will know you're outsourcing for your answer...

Edit
Try not to quote in big chunks.
Integrate what you want to quote into your response.
Have one sentence quotes.
EG: Have a quote, then explain it or whatever, then have another quote... etc
It looks more impressive that way.

You do one for those research thingos where you bring note IN where it's practicly an open books exam. They specify you must acknowledge all the sources you collected your information from.

In that case, it would be easiest to do footnotes throughout as Rahul so elegantly demonstrated.
