How does loge(1/2) = -loge2?

So:

ln (1/2)

= ln (2^-1) *Just converting 1/2 into index form*

Using the property: ln(a^b) = bln(a),

ln(2^-1) = -ln(2)

$\log_e\dfrac{1}{2} = \log_e 2^{-1} = -\log_e 2$
