I have been studying the exemplars on the olmc website (of which there is a link from boredofstudies) and have needed to ask these questions

a) where did these exams come from?

b) therefore, what is the reliablilty of these?

because ive noticed something..... theyre not that good! for band 5/6 answers, theyre pretty ordinary, leaving out crucial parts such as syllabus headings and case studies

what do u guys think? anyone know the answers to the above?

a) there is no link to the olmc website and there hasnt been for a month or so.. the standards packages got taken off due to bos issues but they are available here http://www.boredofstudies.org/mirror/
the standards packages are created by the boardofstudies and schools need to purchase them in order to use them, your school library probably has them on cd rom
remember that band 5/6 is borderline.. so its not necessarily a band 6
b) its just to see how people who scored well did in contrast to the people who did really bad.. and to get the layout right and what content should be written etc
the responses ive seen didnt look so bad

The responses were written by students who sat the actual HSC exams. The Board publishes them in standards packages.

Exemplar responses scored full marks - 100%.

Responses marked as band 5/6 scored 90.

If you can do better, you'll score higher.

:)
