i've just read it and sure, it subverts from the genre...... but to the point it isn't even crime fiction, surely?

Uh.. sharing notes in EE1 isn't a good idea considering that you're competing against all the other EE1 students also doing Crime Fiction.

You need to ask yourself and determine whether or it is a feasible text - does it demonstrate the conventions/subvert them/play with them, does it have a detective, do you feel you can work with it?
