I read somewhere than when you feel stressed or just out of it, it's ideal to do a bit of exercise. Perhaps you can just chuck on your jogging shoes and go for a run?

A nutritionally balanced diet also helps, and it has been proved that those who eat healthily on a regular basis are less likely to experience issues regarding mental health and can deal with stress more easily.

That or you can take up a relaxing habit, perhaps just closing your eyes and listening to music? Taking up yoga, meditation etc.

aah, dumbledore! i was merely providing an example :) i like doing homework for all my subjects [except physics] as i know it will eventually prevent me from lyin' in a hammock spelling definitely incorrectly in a hut with a husband called cletus.

i find reading past students' english stuff incredibly inspiring [provided that it got good marks.. with properly formed, engaging sentences.. and correct spelling -- it's "definitely" not "definately" -shudder-!

and when i dont wanna do maths homework...
i picture myself in 20 years time..
pasty, cellulite-laden with oily hair and some skin condition..
lyin' in a hammock
spelling words incorrectly
checking my myspace for the 7th time that day on my dell laptop with 256mb of RAM..
on vista..
in a hut
in the middle of nowhere
and my husband, cletus- who works at a petrol station
comes home from work, followed by the 17 kids
with names like penny-sue carter, kelsey-lee etc

and then i suddenly
love doing maths homework!!

LOL. I cannot imagine myself like that in 20 years. Because I would have died by then. :D

I predict that my life expectancy would hover around 2030 or 2040 (maximum). Hopefully, I can live long enough to see the the Judgement Day. (definitely within 30 years).

bleak outlook you have there

in 20 years i see myself in a mansion surrounded by jimmy choo shoes and other expensive material items :) this motives me as the only way i can afford that is by studying.

your normal you are at the end of term NOW HOLIDAYS
and it is normal to want a break heck i know i do but that wont happen.
use this holiday as a break by getting all your assesments done first week and using last week as a break, you need a reboot and to be re-motivated

Well these are some things that help me get motivated:
- plan out my day the night before, make a timetable or a list of things I MUST DO, if I don't finish any of them, they carry on to the next day.
- if I cant concentrate, I usually just start writing creative writing pieces, lets me relax while gearing my English skills
- during my breaks, instead of like listening to music or the radio in the mornings, I’ll listen to a Japanese speaking cd, while say looking at magazines etc.
- I’ve got a whiteboard, i take advantage of that, making notes, planning work, memorising quotes/formulaes/essays/planning essay structures etc - as soon as I get up I see what I’ve wrote – really hammers in what ever you’re trying to learn every morning
- I find that when I do my advanced or extension maths homework, it doesnt need so much concentration so i'll usually listen to japanese cd's which is practise for listening exams and speaking too/or just music
- I treat myself now and then for hard work!
- organisation is really key for me to get motivated, that may even mean every few months I rearrange my room (yes, that means changing the furniture around) to refresh my mind and if you let all the papers and homework build up, it takes forever to clean up and re-organise
- tell yourself, it's only the end of this term and the next year until you finish school FOREVER..so put in the hard work and you'll be rewarded!
- go hang out with a friend for a day, go to the beach, a jog anything..when you come back your more likely to go back to doing some work
- if you're going to procrastinate...do it this way. Sometimes I do, so my favourite subject that being maths or Japanese, i'll do work for those subjects because it doesn’t feel like I HAVE to do it, I want to do it. So in the end that time that could have been used to watch TV, I have used to have fun studying and working on my favourite subjects rather than absolutely nothing. Even if it just learning one formulae, it’s better than nothing, so always go back to your most loved subjects when you dont wan’t to do an English essay blah blah etc.
- I tend to do maths and Japanese in between my humanities subjects, so that it doesn’t feel like I’m doing essay after essay after essay..
- I’ll write a word on my hand everyday in Japanese, and just doing that helps me remember to learn one, and one very well! It’s better than nothing...get what I’m saying?
- I’m in the top 3 at my school, so it's important to be motivated if you want to be number 1!
- I just keep telling myself, you must not only surpass the elite, but you must surpass yourself.

Well, i had the same kinda problem, at the end of term2 i just wanted evrything to be done soo yeahh didnt put much effort in things and marks suffered,

But i plan to remove ALL distractions (take out all things that dont educate me) and drink lots of water (apparently improves concentration) oh and trying to find inspiration (lame i know)

This strategy seems unrealistic but im pretty determined
good luck with those 5 assignments :)

I have had no motivation in my studies for the last 2 years. I always say to myself I have to study hard but I end up doing nothing. At the moment I got hips of tests in front of me and I did not even study for one single of them. I better pull my socks up now so I can make into medicine

lol dw ur only in yr 10... u wont get into med by going all out in yr 10 LOL i found that out the hard way

When u get to senior years, u realise all the hard work in junior years was totally wasted.

By the way, my motto for this holiday is "Body & Brain" (a little bit of alliteration there). I made that motto just before the start of the holiday (last week). I also write things like "No game, no fastfood, nothing time-wasting, nothing unhealthy". I have decided to devote my whole holiday exercising, studying, socialising and some worthwhile activities.

EDIT: I also wrote "no BOS" but that's the only thing that I cannot do..
I'm kinda the same :p everytime i feel burnt out, i draw or write something motivational/random and just stick it on my wall. Surprisingly it really helps a lot. Your friends can help heaps too, im lucky in that i have friends (who while they think im absolutely psycho for the marks i want to get) have complete faith in that i'll be able to get whatever i need. Everytime you feel de-motivated its great to just call someone up and talk about whatever. It's a great destressor and keeps you balanced - as in you don't feel like you've spent a whole day studying.
