Qualitative with words, and I can see why you are having trouble with this aspect based on your spelling.

Low Earth- Lower Altitude
- Polar orbits
- Experiences Atmospheric Drag

Geo-Stationary - Higher Altitude
-Equatorial Orbits
-Relatively Immune to Atmospheric Drag
-Must be shielded from cosmic radiation.

Usually polar orbits, not always. Also low earth orbits have a faster orbital velocity than geostationary orbits.

yea, basically wut xayma and cal said...

therefore, low earth orbit is morelikely to decay faster than geostationary satellite...

but certain emr's (i think microwaves) can only be transmitted thru low earth orbitals... so both of them would be equally important...

I guess if you wanna be picky...
You could also state that satellites in geo orbits have a smaller orbital velocity than the low orbits :p
But that should be pretty obvious :)

Give PeT_peT a fair go, after all its the net, you're not getting marked on your spelling and grammer here

I know but the time taken to type out "anyone" as compared to "neone" is insignificant compared to how much easy it makes it to read.

what about the time taken to make such an issue out of it?

i agree with untamedanimal, it is the net after all...

for the original question:
Low-Earth:
- Above the Earths atmosphere, but below the Van Allen belts.
- Altitude: 250 1 000km
- Purpose: Space Shuttle orbits, Hubble Space Telescope, Spy and Surveying satellites.
- Orbital Velocity: 28 000km/h

Geostationary:
- Have a period of 24 hours. They do not appear to move in the sky as seen from Earth. It is above the upper Van Allen belt, which increases the danger from solar radiation.
- Altitude: 35880km
- Purpose: Communication & Weather Satellites.
- Orbital Velocity: 11 000km/h

lolz... uhm, in fact, it would be a better idea to type in full. when i am typing up my assignments, they turn out to be all "wut"'s and "noe"'s.... not funny... =(

any way, i think xayma is being a little harsh... =( no offence tho =)
