Hey guys, i did a silly thing and didnt get my L's as soon as i turned 16, nor did i get it when i turned 17... I got them like 3-4 months ago lol... im turning 18 in a couple of weeks xD

anyway, i was wondering, is there anyway to get your P's once your over 18, without having your L's for 1 whole year?

This is only because my parents are working full time, and im sort of the one who is now going to be the taxi man. Driving is no problem for me now, i feel 100% confident etc... just, is there anyway to get your P's before 1 year? Thanks...

wow they sure do have different rules up here in QLD. Up here i think you have to have the first one for 1yr and then not sure about the other one.
But if you are learning late, and turn 25 while on ur learners, you dont have to do 100 hrs or have a log book!

I didn't get my L's straight away either but I did get them in year 11 and at the time you only had to be on them for 6 months and do 50+ which I did and more in those 6 months. Got my licence pretty much straight after the months were up.

Afraid for you though you have to be on them for a year and 120+ hours (assuming ur on the new system). Live and learn I guess.

I didnt get mine until i was 17 but i wasnt a retard and i knew the rules and only had to have them for 6 months.

Why didnt you think to check to see how long you would need them for about a year ago?

Anyone know if previous L licence counts towards the current 12month thing?

I had my L's previously for the 3 years or however long they last. When I go on to the new system will that time count? I know the hours I did do so fingers crossed?

Realise easiest way is to call them and I will do so but too lazy atm [:

I could be heeeeeeeeeeeeeeaps wrong, but maybe you could just renew it?

Or you could just suck it up and book a test, I can't see you having too much difficulty :/.

Don't think I can renew, been a couple months since it expired now and it was on the old system anyways. Can't hurt to see if it's possible though

Can't book a test cos of the aforementioned expiration

Not in a huge rush, don't need a car for anything

I was fairly sure you could fork over some cash and get another 3 years without having to sit the test again.

But you'd probably have to do that before it expires lul
