Hi

Id like to know the differing factors between a Financial Economics major and a Finance major; apart from the units themselves. i.e. What is the future look in the two? Where does Financial Economics lead to and where does Finance lead to?
And in what ways are their future results different?
I am currently doing a BEcon and am planning to do an Econometrics major & honors(yet to finalise), but wish to do a double major, choosing from either of those 2.

Thanks

If you plan on doing Honours, then do an Economics major rather than either of those. You could do Honours in Econometrics or Finance, but they're worse programs on the Econ Honours one.

If you do not intend on doing Honours (or any of the pre-Honours courses), then all else equal I would pick Finance. Financial Economics would be worse than both Finance and Economics because it is less recognisable.

Of course, future prospects depend on you, not really your major.
