okay, I am a Com/Art student who is thinking of dropping down to just commerce.

My concern is that, let's say, due to my 'combined degree', I study French with my fundamental commerce subjects and have no specialised commerce subjects yet. If I want to do a double major in commerce (possibly International Business and Accounting)

1) Can I start these two majors in Semester 2? or do i have to wait till next year?

2) If they start next year, does that mean that my course duration will be pushed forward to 4 years instead of 3?

3) Can i drop my current French subject if I am dropping my art degree?

thanks

International Business and Accounting is a double major isn't it? that would take 4years anyway

from what i have been reading most subjects can still be dropped before the end of this month without penalty...
after this month which is in 4days, i think if you drop out, you will have the course marked as "failed" or something along those lines in your transcript (if that's what they call it - too much american influence on me)

Yes, this is true. There is a special fail code for it however ...

It's not recommended that you do that either cause when someone sees that code it tells them: "paid for the course and lost their money cause they didn't even do it = not very smart" or so I've been led to believe.

Hey, just like me (im doing Accounting and International Business)

My advice is START IN SEMESTER 2!
Keep doing French, because that will become an elective if you drop arts - if you do a double major in Commerce, you'll have enough credit points to do 4 electives (worth 6 CP each), so 6CP will be taken up by french - and this is all in 3 years

oops, too late. dropped French today. I actually did think about it, but considering that my timetable's so screwed this term, i've decided to drop French, I don't mind doing another semester. I just want to concentrate on commerce :)

hey Minai, is that you in the photo?
