so what are the reasons for the manipulation of truth in frontline?
so far i've got down

- financial reasons- higher ratings = increased profits
- personal reasons- the image you get from a 'good' story..
- professional reasons- boosting the image of the frontline team, publicity, credibility..

are there any other reasons? i've got a speech on it and it seems very little to talk about

Well, when you trace all motivation, you'll find that everything is about ratings ratings ratings, which in turn generates money for the Frontline team. =)

There's more to it than ratings. But I imagine most people will revolve around that.

I had to do that - i did a present - all colourful on the outside, but on the inside it's black - and what the truth really is.

well theres also the manipulation of truth for political gain and to benefit those in positions of power

eg. the PM's interviews being 'puff pieces' ==> John Howard has been criticised for doing puff piece interviews
