So what if someone left it in neutral with the handbrake on? It shouldn't roll away?

Oh and on that note, I need someone to recommend me a sub 2000 dollar car (i know, i'm broke) car. (one with a tachometer please, I'm only a beginner  )

Um... isn't holding the clutch really bad? I mean I know how to drive a manual, friend let me try once, but I want more practise that's all and just wanted to know about downshifting and stuff, and when to. I find it confusing having to aways watch the revs and shit when I'm used to watching the road and traffic all the time.

I think you should get used to it with practice. My friend doesn't even need a tacometer, has one without a taco lol. Should be easier to do in time, I think you should listen to the engine noise, yeah I know, takes some time to get used to.

what are you talking about? you pull the handbrake up to stop a car from rolling
yes but just in case the handbrake fails or something,
having your car in first gear makes it harder for the car to roll away.
but your right really, not exactly necessary in Horizontal Street, Flatsville.

Cool, yeah all my friends put it in park, even if the street is flat as. But hey, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry right?

Yup.. my friend's mr2's handbrake failed him.. he parked on his driveway which slants about 30 degrees upwards.. and he went out for the night, when he came back, his beloved car was in the middle of the road, and cars on either side were going around it like a roundabout

Oh shit lol, that made me laugh. So gear 1 is like P on an auto right?

Putting a manual in first gear (or reverse, i use it coz its the strongest gear u hav) is the same reason y u put an auto in park.
