Ah yes, I've been looking into a range of booty to see if I want to specialise.

I guess you'd also be looking at celestial navigation, maritime medical amputeeism, Woodwork and metalwork (prosthetics) and I guess a Cert. IV in Threatening Flags might be a prerequisite.

Im not entirely convinced, although the possibilities do look good, the prospective employment in this area is the greatest factor contributing to my lack of enthusiasm for such a field. I mean what chances do I have of getting on a fleet such as this one, especially straight out of tertiary education?

I'd try something along those lines and hope for the best. Best to keep well clear of the edges though, the water tends to be a little chilly at first for landlubbers like yourself.
