Wat sort of marks r u guys getting in this subject? My average is about 75%, is that considered to be ok?

depends on what everyone else gets too plus how can it be an average alreddy? you've only done one assesment... you can tell us your average next year deary

In english im coming 2nd and i get around 87% that was for my year 11 yearly

It's Year 12 now, and it's a whole new ball game. You also go to a small, non-highly academic school... which you failed to mention, but with that aside, 75% is considered to be the average at my school - for Advanced English, so it's the "okay" mark when I look at it.

juggernaut and kimmeh are also correct, just like your other threads: it's impossible to predict so early in the game - you've done one assessment - take the average of your last set of assessments, exam blocks (half yearly, trials, HSC) then you'll be able to make some sort of comparison between students.

Because right now, you might have an assessment out of 15 or 20, scoring 16 to 20/20. "Wow great my average is 100% ... but we've only done one assessment"

yes exactly what Huy said. I came first in year 11 english only to get a disspaointing result in my first two assessments (well dissapointing by my standards.) At one stage i think i was about 15th out of 60th with people above me who were in the 40's in year 11. I clawed my way back to finish a ver respectable 3rd but it goes to show that year 11 was no indication of results. When you factor in the increase in pressure that you have in year 12, you will soon realise that there is no point remembering your year 11 marks because as long as you learnt the basics then, its a whole new ball game!

So in conclusion, forget about your average marks. Do your absolute best in every assessment and start counting down the days until its 12:24pm, you're still in your pyjamas and are telling some youngen's not to get there knickers in a knot about average marks!

i came 3rd in year 11. my english teacher gave me 78% for exam mark on the report while i only scored 50%... such a nice teacher

cant be bothered looking back at my report. i think overall i came like 8th, cant remember my mark
but it was stupid for me, like in virtually all the assessments i got 100%, but then the exams (well the 1/2 yrly, i did ok in the trial) i bombed, so it totally pulled down my mark (but my rank was still ok coz everyone screwed it up)
