well,

Wing Chun is originated from Shaolin Kungfu, started by a woman.

Wing Chun use internal energy and softness instead of physical strength.
ie. chi, which sounds more apprealing to woman than the use of muscle strength like what kickboxing do.

It does sound little "bullshit", but I seen it done and I did it last year for two years and it does work, but got bored and have not came back since

Hi i'm a chick that does kickboxing. I'm in Sydney - not sure where you're from, but kickboxing competitions are banned for women here (which is why we go to canberra to compete). It also depends on what style of kickboxing you want to do, i think our club would cater for you, we're all style.
If you're still interested, give me a shout.
