I'm already on 49. They better up me to 50! :D
This is from a 2nd year COMP website. I don't know at all if this is the policy adopted by all of UNSW, or just CSE, or just 2110. But it may be an indication of what happens.

No, I can't give you a PC (pass conceded). PCs are given officially by the assessment committee, but nowadays they are determine automatically as follows:

For marks in the range 46 .. 49 a PC will be granted if the WAM for all the courses under assessment is sufficiently greater than 50. For 48, 49 this will be 53 and for 46, 47 it will be 55.

So please don't ask me for a PC; I can't give you one and if your other marks are good enough it will happen automatically.

So if say I got 49/100 for maths.

Then I got:

59/100 for computing
55/100 for my other subject
60/100 for my other subject

You think that is sufficent for a PC ?

Actually, the uni is very generous in giving out PC. Only a WAM of 53/55.

It should be like a CR avereage :p

Ok I have digged up some more. It appears Maths uses the same algorithm.

https://www.maths.unsw.edu.au/Admin/assess/procexamsS1.pdf

The section that is relevant to you is on page 3.

Note carefully that the algorithm for granting Pass Conceded (PC) grade has been changed from that mentioned in IQ and SA and there is no longer a Pass Terminating (PT) grade. All students will have two WAMs (weighted average marks) on the NewSouth Student database - a session WAM calculated on the basis of the current session's marks and an overall WAM based on all the courses they have been taken in their current degree program.
A student will be granted a PC if any of the following apply:
mark is 48 or 49 and term WAM is at least 53 or
mark is 46 or 47 and term WAM is at least 55 or
mark is 46 to 49 and overall WAM is at least 55 or
mark is 46 to 49 and this is the last course to graduate.
A student will be given PCs on a maximum of 18 units of credit for their WHOLE program.
So, if the above is correct, you would get a PC since your term WAM is 55 ish.
