Was studying got yearly 2moz D: and I couldnt get this question.
"The area of the rhombus is 36cm^2. One of the diagonals is twice as long as the other. Find the lengths of the diagonals."

Area of rhombus = product of diagonals/2.

Let the shorter diagonol = x so the other diagonal = 2x

Product = 2x^2/2 = 36
x^2 = 36
x = sqrt36 = 6

**Note that x > 0 as it is a dimension so x = -6 cannot be the solution.

area of a rhombus = 1/2xy, x and y are diagonals

one diagonal is twice the other, so let them be x and 2x

36cm = 1/2*x*2x
x^2 = 36
x = 6
therefore diagonals are 6 and 12
