Here's one for the insomniacs...

Find the equation of the normal to the curve
y = x<sup>2</sup> + 2kx + (k+2)
at the origin.

Hence or otherwise find the equation of the normal to the curve
y = x<sup>2</sup> + 8x + 6
at the origin.

Nope, find ALL the sides, so yea, its limiting sum.Pretty weird huh. Yea, i got (2sinA)/(1-sinA).

x=<(-5/3). Is there two answers or one?? O well,, next question. From my trials, the teacher was a bitch: "We know that 2^10=1024, so that 2^10 can be represented by a 4 digit numeral. How many digits are there in 2^1000 when written as a numeral?"

2<sup>1000</sup> = (2<sup>10</sup>)<sup>100</sup>
= (1024)<sup>100</sup>
=(1.024x10<sup>3</sup>)<sup>100</sup>
=1.024x10<sup>300</sup>

log 10(10) = 1 = 2 digits
log 10(100) = 2 = 3 digits

log10 (2^1000) = 1000 log10(2) = 301.0229... = 302 digits

Yea..i think its 302. Check the Success One book. It was a past HSC question. Does anyone have the solution for the 07 HSC question 10??...that is a killer question.

Thanks for the link. Helped me alot. Still don't get how to do the last question. That's 5 marks gone for me. Still good, got 108/120=90%
