tbh it probably wont show up, but given that there was something similar in the math adv hsc (2022 q29) i would just say give the question a go its not too bad

The last few years have had complex numbers, proofs and mechanics for question 16c, wonder if it'll be vectors this year?

Is not doing question 16 a conceivable strategy :fish:
i think so if you can make sure you drop almost no marks in questions 11-15, so that if you flunk multi choice and 16 you can still have the possibility of a score of 70-75 and an E4

I'm gonna offer an alternative angle - given the syllabus revision coming up in 2026 - NESA is realising the lack of clarity in the original syllabus and will play by the books this year and until the new syllabus is released - meaning they will stick to tried and true questions, or am I coping hard?

Actually, there are often parts in Q16 that are easy marks. For example, suppose a question has two parts where part (i) is a hard proof but part (ii) is hence deduce this using part (i). In many cases, part (ii) is quite easy so you can just skip straight to that to get some free marks.

Also, it would be a bad idea to skip any induction questions completely, unless you are unable to prove the base case to squeeze at least one mark out of it.

Hoping for mechanics or integration for question 16. Proof would make me a very sad boy
same, at least with those i know where to start proofs can sometimes be the most whack shit i've ever seen
