I think there are very few people who find extension 2 maths not difficult? :)

My schools policy is generally to get into ext 2, you need atleast 90 in mathematics and 75 in ext 1. That would have qualified about 5-6 people, but they allowed about 8-9 people to try it. At the moment they are down to 5. The two top students in the maths and ext 1 maths course decided not to do it, ie me and another guy. Its good cause it gives me time to sleep while the ext 2 guys are working

if you think about it, ext 2 maths is only going to burden you more. it takes time and effort to bring ext 1 maths marks up, and it is a totally different story in keeping up for ext 2 maths.
nay kimmel... most maths e2 stuff can compliment ur maths e1 study... u save time and effort =)

That's something I'm not too sure about.

The principal submits the subjects you've chosen as your HSC subjects. If you can't enrol into a subject at school due to lack of teacher or line clash etc.. it would seem you may not be able to enrol.
A friend of mine was at a school that didn't offer Extn 2, so he did it at another local school (an all girl school, as it happens, so he has an HSC from whatever Girls High School) - this only worked because the Extn 2 classes were before / after school, so there wasn't a problem with a timetable clash.

Note - I don't know what would happen if his school had opposed this arrangement, as teaching yourself raises the problem of getting assessment results (and in some subjects, certifying competencies).

Another possibility is to get an outside tutor to teach you and record assessment marks to ensure you have made a satisfactory attempt in the course. Either case, your exam mark will become your assessment mark which is a pretty dangerous situation to be in if you teach everything yourself and find out that the actual exam is a lot harder than you thought.

thats what one of the guys in my grade did. he wasnt allowed to do ext 2 at our school so he goes to penrith to do it. he's lucky he has free periods in the time they have ext 2, but you can imagine the time wasted needed in travelling here and there straight away. he eventually got kicked out and apparently he's got an outside tutor. but even if this was allowed and he registered to the board of studies, wouldnt that mean he would only have to do ext 1 at my school? not maths?

best thing is to try and get ur hands on a friend, hus done it before, pay them like 15bucks an hour and go to them like 1 seesion a week of 2hours. thats bascially wat happens in class... and most likely peopel will drop out of the class anyhow so just sit tight....

like someboyd said, ext 2maths is not easy, but it is fun... it sounds weird but its the kinda subject u can just sit there and keep doing for 2-3hours...
