hi,

transferring to a school that uses maths in focus textbook for yr 11/12, however i’ve only ever used cambridge textbooks.

for those who have used maths in focus and also cambridge, should i primarily do exercises from the cambridge or maths in focus?

what are the benefits / limitations of the maths in focus textbooks?

Cambridge, maths in focus exercises are repetitive, boring asf and easy.

The MIF explanations are alright though if you like something simple as a starting point. At the end of the day ur better of focusing on past paper qs anyway

It honestly depends on the topic. Sometimes Cambridge will overcomplicate the heck out of topics like statistics, so having more concise and easier explanations from MIF is much better to work with.

for 4u ig do cambridge (no experience personally but i quite like cambridge)
I went fine for 3u while using fitz and mif (barely used either)
I'd say mif is enough for 2u for learning concepts but you should be progressing to exam style questions if you wanna pop off in the hsc
