Hey guys, has the syllabus for 2u/3u/4u maths changed for hsc '09? because i heard they're pulling out all the geometry stuff and conics and adding in data analysis ... just not sure if its already been implemented?

Nope - not for HSC 2009. I think we're the last year.

yea my maths teacher said we the last year,(she is a mx1 HSC marker) she also said maths books at bookshops should be discounted as they will no longer be relavent and new books will come out but i havnt seen any discounted books so...

The Preliminary and HSC Maths Syllabus proposed changes are not going to be implemented anytime soon. It's scheduled implementation for Year 11s next year has been postponed...

Sorry, but according to the syllabus development thread, the decision on when to implement the next/new mathematics syllabuses will be made at a a February (Feb 12?) BOS/National Curriculum Board meeting.

Thats right, except it is on Feb 17.
