I'm going to take a guess here, but if you're left with a variable (i.e. v) and log natural of v, then I would take a graphical or testing approach rather than trying to do an algebraic approach (test v = 80, describe behaviour as v --> 100 and vice versa, and since v<80 (to make your end statement true if you've used this approach) then you can say the end velocity is less than original).
