How do we compare the two? I've never seen a bone scan, can anyone help me?

Btw, what is this dotpoint:

Bone scans are completed using radisotopes. The radiosotope emits radiation, which is then detected by an x-ray detector.
Looking at emission of x-rays
Takes 3-4 hours
Provides more detail than an x-ray
With a bone scan it is possible to detect early changes in the spine and/or other bones of the body which might not show up on an x-ray.

X-rays
Absorption of x-rays shown.
Almost instaneous.

Also may talk about radiation dosages and more detail on x-rays.

err... you said that the isotopes radiation is picked up by X-ray detectors. A

As far as I know the isotopes emit gamma radiation which is then detected by a gamma camera

Also isotope scans can do organs too which X-rays can't, and the resolution isn't as good as X-rays

Depends on which source you take. Modern detectors use a gamma cameras.

Some of the older methods used x-ray plates.

So the answer using a gamma camera would be a better answer.
