I'm doing BA media + communications @ unsw. It was 86-something this year. Usyd only accept a small number of people and that's why their UAI is so much higher.

USYD media and comm is essentially still an arts degree

if you are looking to do artsy subjects, your histories, philosophy etc etc go to MAC because you have a wider option for your media degree (cultural/visual/writing).

but going to UNSW might *look* better, but to do anythign in the meda/entertainment field they look much further than just a uni degree.

seriously i think UTS is THE place to do communication because you can specialise even further - media and prod/ social inq/ journalism. Its courses are more tailored and its near ABC ultimo if that helps...

Yeh I would like to go to UTS but im being realistic about my UAI - i really dont think im able to get in my high 90's.
I suppose theres no big deal about transferring to another uni later on, or is it unnecessary???

look into all of the uts communication degrees...they range from 90 - 96 to memory

first year they have similar subjects...so if you want to transfer its going to be easier (internal transfer) and a lot of your credits will count

grab the unit programs of all the unis if you plan on transferring
