Hey there guys,

I recently received an offer for an interview for undergraduate medicine at UWA, and with my preparation, I was looking into some interview preparation material.

Firstly, I was wondering if anyone could direct me to some useful material that I could access that could improve my performance in the interview, and in particular for UWA's structured medicine interview. eg what is asked, background about med at UWA that we need to know etc.

Secondly, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with interview training. I was looking into some, and NIE's interview training makes a pretty bold claim of:

I was just wondering if anyone had done this course, or other perperation course, and if they could give their opinion on it, eg did it help, was it worth it etc.

Hi b3y0nd,

Congrats on your interview offer. I've been conducting interview training for the last 6 years and my success rates have been in the 80s - at least 4 in 5 of my students have been offered places. Keep in mind that it's somewhat meaningless to compare one course to another, as it really depends on the students in the group: some will have applied to every uni in Australia, while others may apply to only one. Similarly, their school marks and UMAT marks can have a significant effect on how likely they are to be offered places - not just their interviews.
