Hmm just to go into depth the night before the HSC I was wrong, in that it is only Lenz's Law. A magnet will hover even if there is no movement before hand. As inside a superconductor magnetic fields decay exponentially, which shows it is a true phase transition, since it does not rely on preperation only on current values. Although I havent been able to find why.
