hmmm...looks like they are trying to entice normal PC users....ie 800 bucks to get a mac...plug in old monitor and keyboard etc

oh yeah, i didn't think of it that way, in that case it is a pretty good idea.

Bingo, that is EXACTLY the point. Got an iPod? Why not get a Mac too, and not have to pay for stuff you already have (like a screen, mouse and keyboard). Only problem with having your old keyboard is that it is a Windows keyboard, and so has no apple button ...

The Mac mini is so sexy, I want one right now. *Drools*

Would like to start rant about iWork, but I don't think anyone would care ...

Shows how much of a rip an ibook/powerbook is if you can get this for just $800.

I heard it was essentially a G4 powerbook in a white box.

Oh well as the herald said in its article on them - at least they are as affordable (or cheaper) than a similar spec PC - maybe tightwads like myself will finally be interested.
