Hi

In the handbook there are minors in Information Systems, Finance, and a few other subjects. I was wondering what the process is for taking one of these minors and when do you enrol?
I was also wondering whether the subjects in these minors was ontop of your normal course load, or as electives in it. Also is it possible to do one of these minors and do one of the secondary computer science minors, such as AI?

Thanks,
Harry

To enrol into a minor, it's usually just a matter of notifying your program authority that you intend to enrol in a minor. You can do this at any time during your degree.

The courses you take as part of your minor come out of what would be your normal elective courses. The concept of doing a minor on top of your "normal course load" doesn't really make sense if you consider the way programs and courses at UNSW work.

AI isn't a "secondary computer science minor", it's a "specialisation". Having an AI specialisation means that in completing your computer science major, you took enough courses in the topic of AI that you can be considered to have some kind of concentration in it. The rules for getting a specialisation have no interaction with the rules for getting a minor, so you can do both if you want to.
