i've changed my mind about DFEE's though. i think they are actually quite benificial. as the two rankings for DFEE and CSE's are quite mutually exclusive.
they may have some benefits, yes.
but being mutually exclusive doesn't change the fact that people who paid dfee are taking up the vacancies in courses of people who achieved higher than them.

You clearly do not understand the concept of a quota.

yes i do. look at the course as a whole, not at the mutual exclusiveness of csp and dfee.

130 positions in course A.
70 are CSP
60 are DFEE.

of 130 positions, 60 are held by fee payers. These positions would be vacant for people who were close but missed the cut off, if they werent filled by fee payers.

Wrong, DFEE places can only total 35% of CSP spots and cant be offered until CSP is full.

So everybody's already missed out before the DFEE card is played.

-pari-'s 99.25 minus dfee positions equals acceptance, as the csp uai would decrease.

Didn't Howard remove the cap on DFEE places a couple of years ago?

Anyway, the point is that sixty more people wouldn't have missed out because there would be 130 CSP places rather than 70.

In 2006, vet science had 60 dfee places and 70 csp places.

The course would be able to allow more csp places by changing all the dfee places to csp (effectively, removing them).

Nah I actually thought they maintained the cap and used International students as a way around it.

But still fail I guess.
