Dat's easy. If u have 1 E, den u have 6 more letters left to go in 2 spaces. The E can go infront, in between, or after the 2 spaces
So combos of 1 E which will repeat = 6 x 5 x 3 = 90
8p3 - 18 - 90 = 228
ie. spicegals answer!
This explains everything. I couldnt work out why the 2 methods were getting separate answers, but after reading ur quote everything fits in!
