Don't know what an mnemonic is? Its a phrase which assists in remembering key theories or formulae etc. etc. Music has many of these, for remembering orders of notes and keys etc.

Here is a list of some of the most common ones:

For the Order of Sharps:
Fat Cat Got Dumped At Elizabeth Bay OR
Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle OR
Fat Chicks Get Diahorrea After Eating Burritos OR
Father Christmas Gets Drunk Afte Every Beer

For the Order of Flats
Big Elepants After Dark Go Crab Fishing OR
Battle Ends and Down Goes Charles Father

For the Notes: (everyone knows these)

Treble lines: Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit/Fudge/Football
Treble spaces: FACE

Bass lines: Good Boys Deserve Fruit Always
Bass spaces: All Cows Eat Grass

and the best one i have learnt for MODES: (for the Music 2ers)

I - Ionian
Don't - Dorian
Play - Phrygian
Like - Lydian
Mozart - Mixolydian
And - Aoelian
Lizst - Lochrian

Hope these help!! :)

Also "Father Christ Gave Dough At Easter Breakfast", doth sayeth my olde pianoforte instructress.

and.. ROFLMAO!!! At the modal ones, both of them!!!

There's a little song from the movie "The Aristocats" that is really cute.

Every truly cultured music student knows
You must know your scales and your arpeggios.
Sing the music, ringing through your chest and not your nose
When you do your scales and your arpeggios.

^^ maybe a bit of vocal technique reminder?!?

HAHAHAHAHAAH. :D All this filth reminds me of a quote from someone whose name escapes me at the moment:

Bla to a Cello player: "Madame, you have this wonderful instrument between your legs, and all you can do is scratch it!".

That would be Sir Thomas Beecham, if I recall correctly.
