Hi so in your reflection do you also have to say that you incorporated specific techniques in your discursive because they were used/similar in your prescribed text or do you just have to link through the concept of the prescribed text and then just use whatever techniques you want??

The prescribed texts should inform the stylistic features of your response (extended metaphor, personal voice, allusion, etc.). Conceptually, your piece doesn't have to be anything at all like your prescribed texts. In fact, ideally you should avoid echoing the same themes or concepts as this can make your piece look unoriginal.
