haha, i borrowed one from the library once ( in yr 2 also), after reading half of it, and being bored nearly to death i returned it.

k, couldn't be bothered reading the 16 pages but i did a search
cannot believe no one has mentioned a series of unfortunate events by lemony snicket - seriously, there were 13 yeh? i think i managed to read 5 or so before i realised he was going to write the exact same plot for each book..and i used to skip paragraphs because he described WAY too much..man, seriously, most horrible books ever

What's wrong with description? You prefer the Dan Brown school of writing?

amen to that.
Actually if you skip over all that moralising crap you will actually be quite surprised at what you can find...

Of course they won't tell you about it because most of it's rather pornographic, but that's the Old Testament for you.

We were given Bibles at assembly back in year 9 or something, even though everyone at assembly were neither Christian or Catholic.

Most of the God believers were at scripture.

Their plan of mass conversion didn't really work, I figured.

Jane Austen's Emma and Pride and Prejudice. My god, did I want to chuck a violent spaz. "Oh, the subtle humour, the satire, Mr Darcy is soooo delicious..."

I don't care. Mr Darcy is a wanker. Go to hell Austen. BURN.

The Maltese Falcon. The book was 213 pages which isn't that long but it seems like forever when you're following some tit who thinks he's hot shit go on and on about how all the ladies want to seduce him. Burn even more, Hammett.

Anil's Ghost. Where do I start?

I'm guessing that those people who write the HSC English syllabus look through this thread to see what books to throw in there.

I told you so! In my opinion, that book is a bit too long.
