No, I mean they don't even give you a jacket on the day, not where I went anyway. Just helmet and gloves.

You know they don't give you a jacket? Also it's gonna be fucking hot as this time of year. You're only going 30 km/h max, I'd just wear a solid long sleeve top.

Megan: You don't have to be able to flat foot a bike to ride it. I guess it is easier though.
It's much easier, especially since these bikes have a relatively high centre of gravity. They're enormous and I doubt I'd have the strength to hold them upright without feet flat on the ground.

And yeah you don't need to wear a jacket, just a solid top. You're not going to be falling off. I did the course in 30 degree heat and it was deadlyyy.

I brought my own helmet and gloves just because I didn't want to wear theirs.

You don't go any faster in the pre-learner course than you do on a bike, so i wouldn't worry.

While absolutely essential on the road, during the test, you don't really even need that. If the weathers warm and fine get some sun block on and enjoy the breeze. It's not like you're going to go sliding down the tarmac on your elbows. The worst case senario is a near stationary drop that could rip up your hands, which is why they supply gloves.

What sort of bike are you going to ride post-licence? What's your budget?
