You should start doing NSW Maths now. Methods is quite different, although you use the same methods of integration. Specialist is also different from our highest maths offered and dare I say, I think the NSW Mathematics syllabus is more difficult. Wow, you guys get uniform motion formulas, de moivre's theorem and plenty of integrals. We only get a set of standard integrals. You even have your rules of differentiation!

And to add to Spiral's summation, there are different levels of English.
ESL < English Standard (2 units) < English Advanced (2 units) < English Extension 1 (3 units) < English Extension 2 (4 units)
(Much like maths)

I only effectively did half of the prelim course when i moved half way through year 11. The school wasn't to bothered about it. The only way to be sure is to contact a school directly and ask.

Just to help with choosing subjects, methods is closest equivalent to mathematics. Mathematics is the highest 2 unit maths you can take (just no extensions on top). Maths syllabus varies a lot, my yr 11 VCE friends do very different topics in methods. For English, even though you don't do Lit, you'd prob be up to doing English Adv. Then the other subjects? Well you could pick 3 other 2u subjects then for the minimum HSC load of 10 units. You should check if you should do Yr 12 bio again so it can count for your ATAR-I don't think you can mix VCE and NSW subjects in calculating ATAR, as the states use a bit of a different system to obtaining the ATAR.

i moved as well, the system is melbourne is heaps different, do year 11 and acquaint yourself with how it works. it will throw you off dramatically if you dont. and im 100% sure you cant just go straight into year 12 without the prelim course. you would at LEAST have to do the final exams and cover the content as it links with what you do in year 12 in terms of the skills and structure of courses.

i moved 2 years ago. year 11 finishes in 8 weeks in sydney anyway as the hsc course starts in term 4 this year. but the hsc course is better. but sydney can be heaps shit compared to melbourne if you live in a dud area.
