hey everyone i seem to have a problem with my monitor when i turned the comp on everything has a funny green tint to it which was never there before is there anyway to fix it i checked all the chords were in the back

my monitor is an studioworks lg 700s if that has any bearing on the problem

Roughly, how old is the monitor? Have you tried changing all the colour/contrast etc settings?

my monitor is nearly 2 years old and i have tried fiddling with the settings nothing happened

hmm, its not that old.....If it was older, i'd say it's time to get a new one.

Okay, this sounds like a common problem.

The most common instance of the monitor obtaining a "funny green" is that of a strong magnet placed within its vicinity.
Common magnets, that may be placed near the monitor unknowingly are;
- Speakers (Unshielded)
- Televisions
- Over-sized alarm clocks
- Vcr's,
- Most sizeable electronic devices

To see if such a device is causing the problem, locate the device (if applicable), move it a substantial amount away from the monitor, wait a minute or so, and see if the tint gradually starts to subside away.

The other common instance of the monitor obtaining a "funny green" is that of the monitor, being so old/crap that it itself becomes like that. Normally if a VERY cheap monitor, but since froms the other posts, I gather the monitor is not old/cheap, I doubt this is the likely problem. Unlike the previous situation however, if this is the case, it can not be fixed, without buying a new monitor.

Indeed, this type of problem has occured on many of my old monitors, though they all went violet rather than green.

Jiggle the chord at both ends, my bet is it will go to green and normal intermitantly.

Entire screen green = cable problem as mentioned or colour correction problem in monitor or video driver settings or monitor needs to go.

Part of screen green in a round shape = monitor been around a magnet for too long as mentioned.

urs went green? mad my old monitor would go yellow- i didnt like that 1

if you haven't been messing with video card, cables etc

$10 saids the monitor is broken
LG is not famous for quality

you won't be able to fix it
do what everyone has mentioned above and if it does not work just slap it on the side/top and hope that fixes it...
upgrade to a LCD

thanks guys for your help the only thing i have next to the monitor is one speaker and the other one is below it cause it is on a stand thing, i tried checking if the chords were plugged in properly they seemed alright and then when i turned the computer on the colour has changed from green to blue

today i am going to ring up lg because the warranty is 3 years and i will see what they will do

yes the screen went more blue what i mean is that it is a darker blue than it was before

Perhaps you could sprinkle it in transistors and chant Java at the same time

Most likely a connection problem with the cord, or the monitor has just had it. Either take it back to where you got it, and get it repaired, or get a new one.
