Hi, I was thinking of doing My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult as my related text for belonging. Is anyone else doing this novel?

I'm actually debating whether to use this as a prescribed text. I think it's a good novel to use with my core text which is Raimond Gaita's memoir 'Romulus, My Father'.
Have you read the book yet?

I'm doing Nineteen Minutes, which is also by Jodi
I find that her techniques are pretty obvious and she highlights the feelings of the characters to a great extent.
My advice: GO FOR IT:)

yeah i was considering doing my sisters keeper as my related text too!
but im not sure if i can get enough notes on belonging for it
i mean, yeah she doesn't belong in her family and can even be considered as a tool for her sister
but thats at the beginning of the novel
and then throughout the novel you see her parents saying i love all my children equally etc. so im not too sure now -_-
can anyone help me? =x

Hey,
I just finished reading her new story its called "handle with care"
i found that this had a central theme of belonging through the eyes of the older daughter as she seems to go by forgotten and also because the mother feels that she may have aborted her daughter with OI.

just an idea. but read it anyway highly recommended boook
:)

read it as soon as it came out.... wasn't as good as the others imo. bit of a let down.
