On something along those lines:
Would CH<sub>3</sub>-CCl<sub>2</sub>-CHCl-CH<sub>2</sub>-CH<sub>2</sub>-CH<sub>2</sub>-CHCl<sub>2</sub>
be 1,5,6,6-Tetrachloroseptane
Or 2,2,3,7-Tetrachloroseptane
Going by the first difference it would be the top one right?

septane? wow! i always tohught it was heptane. o well, so locants are where each atom, not functional gruop or wateva, just where the atoms are?Xayma said:
