If we are asked to discuss the worth of texts, and we have to refer to how they were valued over time, does this mean to examine how the texts were appropriated, how they portray values, how they were received or some other means that create an answer?

ok then, say that you were doing say "Dracula" you could speak about how it has been approriated by Coppla in his movie "Dracula" and this subverted Stoker's intial gothic genre as which was common to the time of Coppola and how this was recived well by Coppola's contempories but was rejected by much of the community.
