Hey, anyone know anything about or do arts?

I'me got an essay to do for uni, and I haven't a clue for what they mean by Symptoms to do with art...

Essay topic: What do you believe are 3 of the most important symptoms of contemporary art in the current australian art practice?

If anyone has a clue to what symptoms is being refered to please reply..

I think they mean stylistic features. Don't take my word for it though

So.. you mean like for painting, brush strokes would be a symptom. :worried:

Or for music.. political or cultural maybe? but hten thats an aspect.. perhaps it could mean the traditional features mixed digitally.. u know like didgeridoo modernwise or something...

I interpret that as symptoms: elements...

e.g sneezing, coughing, runny nose are symptoms of a cold/flu
e.g bright colors, cartoon drawings, famous people are symptoms of pop art...(bad example...but come on....it's 2:30am and I haven't done art in 2 yrs..)

basically elements (color, texture, type of art e.g mixed media, painting etc..)that make contemporary art aussie art?

i suggest emailing your lecturer/tutor and asking them. give them your definition of the question and then ask if you're headed in the right direction. it's not like they're not going to help with something like that
