Hello
I'm in year 11 and doing advanced English.
Our study topic for this term is Race and Gender.
We're currently studying the text Othello in class and we've be given out first assignment for the term.
Now to tell the, truth, i really hate shakespheare texts. They way they're written, i simply cannot understand it.
Anyway i need abit of help to kickstart the assignment.
I Want to get it done really soon.
Here is what the assessment sheet says.
What do people think is the best?
1,2 or 3?
I'm thinking of doing 2 or 1, but i don't know where to start. This is always a problem!
And if i choose 2, how the hell do i write a soliloquy?
Is there any websites with guides on how to write Shakesphear style solilioquy's?
And i i choose 1, how do i start that off? I'm 100% sure it has be written in some form of shakespeare text.
Anyway...
Please help.
I need a starting boost.
cheers.
thanks.

Now i really don't know which one to choose?Task Title: A written reflection ,as one of the characters of Othelio in a specific text form. Length: 800-1000 words for the reflection, plus a self-evaluation of 150 words of your own writing.
Task: You are to write a reflection on the ideas about race and gender raised in Othelio in role as one of the key characters of the play. In your reflection you are to focus on how those ideas are represented in the language of the play, and operate as an extension of the play's Renaissance context.
Choose the form of your reflection from one of the following suggestions:
1) A courtroom speech from Cassio calling for the execution of Iago after the events of the play o A monologue/soliloquy as Desdemona before she is murdered
2) An imagined conversation between Othello and Emilia before the murder of Desdemona
3) An interview/cross-examination of Iago by one of the surviving characters of the play
4) If you wish to use another form or other characters, please have it approved by your teacher.
You will also be required to compose a self-evaluation of your own writing, focusing on both the way your composition developed AND the way your thinking about the play grew as you worked on this task.
