need help with Yeats (1 Viewer)

Hey, my thoughts on Yeats poetry is that its good because a lot of meaning can be divulged from his poetry (just what the teachers want huh?) and using the different readings like Romantic and New Critical will give you better marks. For example his poem; The Wild Swans at Coole can be read Romantically because it refers to his relationship with Maude Gonne, yet it can also be read New Critically, looking at all the metaphors present within the poem, the swans standing for Immortality, etc.
